2025 Registration and Contest Dates
Registration for the 2025 Regional Competitions will open on Monday, January 13th and will close on Tuesday, February 25th. Students can compete independently or as part of a school program. We will post registration links and information on how to register later this fall. In the meantime, on this page you'll find contest dates and deadlines, regional assignments, student registration caps per school, and more. More info coming soon!

Registration Fees
We want to reduce or eliminate as many barriers to participation in the contests as possible. Thanks to support from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, we have reduced registration fees again this year to $10/student for the Regional Competitions and $10/student for the State Competition; we will also offer registration fee waivers for students who request them by filling out the form at the link.
Travel Assistance
Need help getting to the state contest? Please get in touch! We are prepared to offer bus stipends to cover the costs of transportation to the Regional and State contests as well as other accommodations upon request. Please email us at nhd@promisesurfing.net for more information.
NHDWebCentral
Students creating websites must use the NHD website builder, NHDWebCentral, to compete at Regional and State Competitions this year. If you have any questions about student websites, please email us at nhd@promisesurfing.net.
National Contest
The National Contest will be held in June 2025 at the University of Maryland College Park, dates TBA.
